Social Trip Details – Liverpool 8th September 2022

Dear Members and Friends Groups,

The DCS is delighted to advise that we have planned our second Social Outing for Thursday the 8th Sept 2022 to Liverpool.

The outing agenda will be as follows:

  • St Georges Hall, with a guided tour in the morning,
  • Lunch at a Toby Carvery
  • A guided tour around Knowsley Safari Park in our coach, with time afterwards to walk and see animals not on the Safari Tour.

St Georges Hall is a Grade 1 listed building of great distinction. The foundation stone was laid in 1838 to commemorate Queen Victoria’s Coronation. The original concept was for a Central Hall to house concerts, which in fact became a multipurpose building with a magnificent Assembly Room, an elaborate Concert Hall, Magistrates Courts and prisoner cells, and many other impressive major rooms.

The cost includes coach travel, entrance and guided tour fees at St Georges Hall, Knowsley Safari Park, the carvery lunch and all gratuities.

Pick up points as usual will be Didsbury Library at 8:30 am and East Didsbury Methodist Church 8:40 approx.

Yours sincerely

Mike Corlett Chair
