DCS Social Trip Black Country Museum Wednesday 25th September 2024

Website

This trip to the Black Country Living Museum at Dudley has a change of format to keep costs lower for travellers as the venue has a longer coach journey due to the location being in the Midlands, which brings increased coach costs. This trip also does not include lunch giving travellers the freedom to choose where and when they eat. The museum is a large open-air site with over 80 operational buildings, including shops, houses, a public house, a cinema, a church, a Workers Institute (club), a bus and tram garage, blacksmiths forge, various other workshops and even a coalmine, all of which is contained on one site with free buses to get everyone around the site and much more. At the museum you can experience the sights and sounds, it`s smells and the tastes of the Black Country. You will meet costumed characters and actors around the site. Please make sure you speak to the characters around the town and inside the shops. Travellers can bring a picnic or purchase their own food from the various establishment`s at the site, with local delicacies of hot faggots and peas from the butcher, a fish and chip shop, two pubs, cafes and the Women’s Workers Institute.

To cap it off there is an old-fashioned fairground to have a few rides to round off the day (though we cannot guarantee old fashioned prices). There is plenty do, so just enjoy yourselves.

The cost inclusive of the coach travel, museum entrance and gratuities is £45.00 for this social trip.
