DCS Social Trip Black Country Museum Wednesday 25th September 2024

Website

The museum is a large open-air site with over 80 operational buildings, including shops, houses, a public house, a cinema, a church, a Workers Institute (club), a bus and tram garage, blacksmiths forge, various other workshops and even a coalmine, all of which is contained on one site with free buses to get everyone around the site and much more. At the museum we experienced the sights and sounds, it`s smells and the tastes of the Black Country. We also met costumed characters and actors around the site. Please make sure you speak to the characters around the town and inside the shops. Travellers brought a picnic or purchased local delicacies of hot faggots and peas from the butcher, a fish and chip shop, two pubs, cafes and the Women’s Workers Institute.

To cap it off there was old-fashioned fairground to have a few rides to round off the day.

The cost inclusive of the coach travel, museum entrance and gratuities was £45.00 for this social trip.
